Player Spotlight

The Challenge

Create high-impact athlete spotlight graphics that capture attention quickly and visually communicate strength, identity, and movement. The designs needed to feel modern and consistent with contemporary sports media while maintaining strong hierarchy and readability.

The Solution

Layered compositions combining dramatic lighting, bold typography, and controlled motion effects to emphasize intensity and athletic performance. Strategic use of contrast and spacing creates a clear focal point on each athlete while maintaining visual balance and professional sports branding aesthetics.

Jeremiah Smith & Maliyah Ross

Two distinct athlete spotlight graphics built for social media — each designed around the athlete's team identity and visual energy while sharing a unified approach of bold typography, layered player cutouts, and high-contrast composition. Click either poster to open it full size.

Jeremiah Smith — Ohio State Football

Athlete Spotlight — Jeremiah Smith, WR #4, Ohio State Football. Bold SMITH typography runs vertically behind layered player cutouts. Dramatic red lighting, dark field, high-contrast composition with Athlete Spotlight label at top. View full size

A layered composition for Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith (#4) — the name 'SMITH' runs vertically in oversized grey type behind two player cutouts at different scales, creating depth and movement. Dramatic red dramatic lighting cuts through the dark field. Player name, position, and team are set in clean white at the bottom.

Maliyah Ross — GCU Track & Field

Athlete Spotlight — Maliyah Ross, Grand Canyon University Track and Field. Purple GCU palette, repeating PRAY ABOUT IT & BE ABOUT IT watermark text, bold black speed lines, player cutout, name banner in script. View full size

A bold social graphic for GCU track and field athlete Maliyah Ross — repeating purple typography ('Pray About It & Be About It') fills the background as a watermark texture. Dynamic speed lines in black anchor the composition, with the athlete breaking through the frame. Name is set in a flowing script banner, with GCU logo and Grand Canyon University Track and Field credit at the bottom.
